Pyramid Rock Festival

She's My Baby

As the sad news was brought to our attention that Pyramid Rock Festival has been cancelled this year, we thought we would pay tribute by releasing five live sessions we filmed and recorded at the New Years 2012/13 festival earlier in the year.

We figured no better way to warm your cold September feet (for those in the Southern Hemisphere) than to give you some summery footage and amazing tunes. To kick off the sessions, we bring to your device screen indie four-piece Kingswood, playing their ever so magnetic “She’s My Baby.”  The band is comprised of singer Fergus Linacre, guitarist Alex Laska (spelling not to be confused with Laksa, the popular spicy noodle soup), bass player Jeremy Hunter and drummer Justin Debrincat.

It’s been a big year for these hardworking (and very entertaining) Australian lads.  Along with winning the triple j Unearthed competition to perform at Splendour in the Grass, the band also supported Aerosmith and Grinspoon, played two sold out shows at The Corner Hotel, made a short film to accompany the release of their fourth single ‘Ohio‘ and are now recording their debut album in Nashville, Tennessee.

This song is insanely addictive; it carries a catchy riff and memorable vocal hook accompanied by the subtle gravel of singer Fergus Linacre’s remarkable voice throughout.  This stripped back version of “She’s My Baby” shows the band’s versatility. This gorgeous acoustic performance grabbed us by the heartstrings and didn’t let go.

We’re Kingswood fans for life.
