Hoodlem anonymously burst onto the scene clouded by mystery, sparking worldwide intrigue. This is a band we’ve wanted to record live since day dot. In Hoodlem’s presence, you can taste the impending success.
Quietly confident, there is an endearing humbleness to Hoodlem’s recent achievements; an act who have already garnered more credible international and local support than you can count on both hands.
Music tastemakers from around the world have given Hoodlem their tick of approval – including Neon Gold, MS MR, MTV, Nylon, Fader, Chess Club, triple j and the list goes on.
This dreamy duo have toured Europe, showcased at CMW (Toronto), CMJ (New York) and nearly topped the Hype Machine charts a few times over. Completely independently, they have clocked over two million streams on SoundCloud.
They’ve got the goods to back it up. Hoodlem’s live performance stops you in your tracks; weaving soulful provocative vocals with glitchy beats that smack you in the heart. We put them on stage in an empty 900 capacity room and they belted out their recent single ‘Old Friend’. This is just the beginning.
If you’re in Melbourne on Saturday 16 April, you can go to Howler and watch Hoodlem perform live in their hometown – a rarity that should be cherished. And then one day you can say “I once saw them play for $10.”
Hoodlem plays Howler with NICO GHOST and electronic/soul act Alice Ivy.
