Large Noises is now listed as ‘In A Relationship’ with Hayden Calnin.
Hayden’s first collaboration with Large Noises was a mind blowing performance of his song ‘Summer‘ in his living room last year. This was a clip that raised an abundance of eyebrows worldwide and got people talking about him. The clip also broke a Large Noises record with the most views in the shortest amount of time. Not long after we filmed Hayden, he independently released his debut EP ‘City‘ – a body of work that is still being talked about while he is about to release his next EP.
This is why we figured it was imperative we capture Hayden performing something from City and something new to give you a taste of what to expect from his next EP. ‘Shutters’ is a track that is not only featured on the City EP, but also in a recent episode of the US TV series Suits. The snippet of ‘Shutters’ in Suits has attracted a whole new audience for Hayden – an artist who still remains an undiscovered gem in some parts of the world. But not for long. We also filmed and recorded a new track titled ‘Not Good For Me’ – pulling your heart strings one at a time as he stands alone on a stage, belting out “You are not good for me.”
It’s incredible to think Hayden only recently turned his focus to music and has already gained the utmost amount of industry respect – supporting the likes of Alpine, Asta, Birds of Tokyo, Oliver Tank, Matt Corby, collaborating with Claire Bowditch, producing and mixing local talents like Eliza Hull and HOWQUA, and there’s talk of some international remixes in the works.
Listing Frightened Rabbit as one of his biggest influences, it was only natural that Hayden was the perfect fit to support Scottish folk outfit Admiral Fallow in their packed out secret show during the Melbourne leg of their Australian tour with Frightened Rabbit.
Known for his unique ambient sounds, emotive and powerful voice, the entire room at The Grace Darling Hotel fell silent when Hayden performed, welcoming Admiral Fallow to the country and coining the audience one of the best he’s ever played to.
Hayden’s next single ‘Coward’ is slated for release on 5 November 2013 in Australia, with his next EP ‘Hunter’ scheduled for release in January next year. It’s a bright future ahead.
