Dylan Joel

Pyramid Rock Festival

Our next Pyramid Session is brought to you by 22 year old Australian MC, Dylan Joel. As one of the newest additions to the Australian hip hop scene, Dylan’s got something pretty special going on. He’s young, super talented, and pushing new limits combining soul and hip hop.

Dylan Joel was discovered on triple j when the station got wind of his song ‘Leveled‘ and featured him on high rotation. Courtesy of winning the triple j Unearthed Pyramid Rock competition, Dylan was invited to perform on the main stage at Pyramid Rock Festival. Before his show, we met him in the artist area and watched him perform his track ‘Petals’ with nothing but an acoustic guitar and a percussionist.

His 16-track album ‘That’s Good’ was released this year for free to Dylan Joel fans across the globe. He worked on the album with Canadian producer Otis Grey, and more recently toured around Canada.  Since the release things have been on the rise for the young MC, he’s had solid radio play, toured both nationally and internationally and is drumming up interest with a number of record labels.

Dylan’s cheeky personality, tight rhymes and the perfect amount of ambition to boot will see him through some exciting times in his music career.  He makes pretty sweet videos as well – check out this promo video for his recent album launch at The Corner Hotel.

It was a privilege to work with Dylan in the super early stages of career and witness all of his achievements so far this year.
